Description: It was an online guest lecture where the speaker created awareness in students about the importance of research methodology in carrying out systematic research and the importance of research in today’s modern business. The speaker also shed light on various career opportunities in the field of research.

Activity 2 – Institutional Level Research Conference by Research Cell

Description: The one-day Institutional Level Research Conference by Research Cell Committee of the B.A. Campus was held on Tuesday 5th April 2022. The Guest of Honour was Dr. C. N. Rawal (Former Principal, BMCC, Pune). He delivered a very engaging talk and encouraged the faculty members and students to shift the focus of research from Innovation to Invention. The inaugural programme also saw the virtual and the physical unveiling of the Research Journal Vidyawarta where 29 faculty members from BA Campus had contributed with their research articles.
The resource person of Session I was Dr. Sharad Joshi, who spoke on the topic: Current Trends in Commerce, Management & Technology. His major inputs were on the areas where research potential is strong.
The resource person of Session II was Dr. Suhasini Itkar. Her topic was: Technology in Research. She emphasised on technological research, the traditional research vs. the scientific research processes and the need for change in our research approach.
The resource person of Session III was Dr. Vilas Nandavadekar. He spoke on the topic: Research Opportunities in Computer Management. He encouraged the participants to identify the social problems around us and identify the research opportunities from it.
The conference concluded with the distribution of the certificates to all the paper presenters and the participants.

Description: This session was organized by the Research Cell of BA Campus for the faculties with the intention to make them aware of the basics of research. The session provided necessary inputs in the form of knowledge of the research process to motivate teachers and develop the desire to expand in the field of research. The session provided knowledge of basic research methodologies, types of research and tools used for research investigations. This guidance was quite helpful for the preparation of the research proposal and for writing research articles.

Topic: Publication Ethics & Plagiarism

Description:
This session was organized by the Research Cell of BA Campus in collaboration with IBS, Pune at their Hadapsar, Pune campus for the faculties with an intention to increase education and awareness of ethical issues pertaining to research publications. How the allegations of plagiarism should be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly with the help of systematic reviews and special software were also discussed during the session. Institutions and professional associations should take cognizance of the act of plagiarism and initiate appropriate action. This guidance was quite helpful for writing research articles.

Topic: Publication Ethics: Roles & Responsibilities of Authors

Description:
This session was organized by the Research Cell of B.A. Campus for the faculties with the intention to make them aware of good publication practices. While refraining from scientific misconduct or research fraud, authors should adhere to Good Publication Practices. Publications which draw conclusions from manipulated or fabricated data could prove detrimental to society and overall research. The session provided necessary inputs on publication norms, the researcher’s ethical code and issues in research ethics. The session provided knowledge of how ethical standards for publication should exist to ensure high-quality publications, public trust in research findings, and that people receive credit for their work and ideas. This guidance was quite helpful for the preparation of the research proposal and for writing research articles.

Description:
The Research Cell Committee of BA Campus held a guest lecture on “How to Write a Research Report Based on Field Surveys.” The session covered framing research objectives, writing hypotheses, creating questionnaires, pilot surveys, and conducting actual surveys. It was highly informative and beneficial for our students.

Additionally, a session on the Community Engagement Program was organized. The session provided useful and informative content for the students.
