Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Shivajinagar, Pune 05 – Self Financed Section (Commerce) was established in June 2007 for Professional courses in Computer and Business like B.Com, BBA and BCA/BBA (CA), BBA(IB), M.Com (e-Commerce), M.Com. which are affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. The functioning of it was inaugurated with gracious presence of Hon. Chairman. Prof. Dr. Gajanan Ekbote, Prof. Mrs. Jotysna Ekbote, Prof. S. Y. Vaishampayan and Prof. A. V. Deshpande on 3rd July 2007.

BBA, BCA and B.com. program lays the basic platform for the students based on which they can further explore the field of management and computer Applications. These courses aim at acquiring the skills which is highly demanded in the industry. In a very short span of time the commerce department has flourished by expanding with Post Graduate course of M.com in the year 2012.

Students are trained according to the demands of the industry and economy. Teachers are young, dynamic and well qualified who have registered for M.Phil and Ph.D. and actively involved in syllabus framing, involvement in research activities, developed teaching techniques and active participation in organizing various curricular and co-curricular activities. Department provides professional touch to the courses offered by inviting experts from various fields like education, IT, finance, marketing, HR, etc.

Departmental Placement cell organises various skill based training program like interview, GD, Image building , aptitude skill for the students to make them employable. Placement cell is well connected with different colleges to participate in pool campus placements as also with different companies engage in campus recruitment. They are also very connected with the students in informing them about various placement activities through the social networking sites.
