The ‘Department of Performing Arts’ of Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Shivajinagar, Pune-5 was formally inaugurated by Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar on 17th Oct 2023. The department currently offers bachelors course in Music (B.A Music) within the NEP structure, along with short term Certificate courses in ‘Music Appreciation’ and ‘Music Therapy’. The department tries to strike a balance between the traditional performing arts traditions of India and the contemporary sensibilities of the young creative minds. Apart from providing professional training in Hindustani vocal and instrumental music, we aim to provide our students with a strong foundation in music, necessary for pursuing a career in any music-related fields like stage performance, sound recording, sound editing, music composing, music arrangement, music design, music education as well as further studies/research in music.
