Progressive Education Society’s Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Shivajinagar, Pune-5 is a premier institution of higher education in Maharashtra, established in 1970 by the Progressive Education Society, founded in 1934. The college is permanently affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and has been granted Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi in 2019-20, providing academic flexibility and opportunities for curriculum innovation. In 2025-26, the College was conferred the prestigious “Empowered Autonomous Status” by Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune-7, for a period of ten years.
