Activity 1: Career Opportunities with Foreign Languages after BBA

Description: The speaker provided a comprehensive overview of the significance of learning foreign languages in today’s globalized world. Activity 2 : Starting a Start Up

Description: The speaker apprised students on developing an entrepreneurial mind-set and how this helps one to achieve success in any field. She emphasized that cultivating such a mind-set involves embracing innovation, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Prof. (Dr.) Sharayu Bhakare highlighted the importance of creativity, risk-taking, and adaptability as key components of entrepreneurship. She shared practical strategies for identifying opportunities, setting clear goals and learning from failures. By drawing on real-life examples and her own experiences at the Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, she illustrated how entrepreneurial thinking can be applied not only to starting a business but also to driving change and growth in established organizations. Activity 3 : Impact of Covid-19 on Indian Economy

Description: In this webinar, the speaker discussed details of how different sectors of the Indian economy have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Dr. Madhura Joshi, Head of the Department of Economics at SNDT College of Arts & Commerce, Pune, provided an in-depth analysis of the pandemic’s impact across various industries. She highlighted how the lockdowns and restrictions led to disruptions in manufacturing, a slowdown in the services sector, and challenges for small businesses and informal workers. Dr. Joshi also addressed the economic measures taken by the government to mitigate these effects, such as stimulus packages, policy reforms, and support for vulnerable groups. She emphasized the importance of adaptability and innovation in overcoming the challenges posed by the pandemic, and encouraged students to consider the broader implications for economic recovery and future growth. Activity 1 : Resume Building & GDPI Tips
Date: 2nd September 2021 ; Name of Speaker: Prof. Vikash Singh (IMS Learning Resources Pvt. Ltd, Pune)

Description: The guest lecture aimed to help students prepare resumes and succeed in group discussions and interviews. During the session, students received practical guidance on how to craft effective resumes that highlight their skills, achievements and experiences. The speaker discussed strategies for participating confidently in group discussions, including tips for active listening, clear communication and respectful disagreement. Interview skills were also addressed, with a focus on common questions, presenting oneself professionally, and handling challenging scenarios. By attending this lecture, students gained valuable insights and tools to enhance their employability and present themselves successfully during recruitment processes.
Activity 2 : Topic: Recruitment and Selection Process: DOs and DON’TS of Interviews

Description: The online guest lecture sessions were thoughtfully organized for TY BBA students with the primary goal of inspiring them and providing meaningful exposure to real-world industry practices. These sessions connected students directly with accomplished professionals from various business sectors, allowing them to gain first-hand insights into current trends, essential skills and practical knowledge. Through interactive discussions, question-and-answer segments and detailed overviews of different job roles, students were able to broaden their understanding of the business world and better prepare themselves for future professional endeavours.

Description: WNS is a global business process management company. The WCF ‘Make My Career 2.0’ program aimed to address skill gaps through online training, mentoring, and supporting student employability. The session opened with an overview of the Make My Career 2.0 program, highlighting the Customer Interpersonal Skills (CIS) training. Emphasizing effective communication for business success, the speaker introduced the SVAR test to assess English proficiency. The three-week CIS training, starting March 28 2022, featured interactive workshops and activities to build students’ customer handling, listening, empathy, and problem-solving skills, combining theory with practical experience and ongoing feedback.
Activity 5 : Entrepreneurship Development Camp

Description: The Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organized at Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Business Administration Campus) in collaboration with Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development. Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development is an autonomous society working under the Directorate of Industries, Government of Maharashtra. It is an ISO 9001:2008 certified organization. It is a training institute in the core area of entrepreneurship development. It works as a facilitator & guide for the creation & cultivation of the entrepreneurial spirit in the society. The camp was inaugurated on 28th of March 2022 in the presence of Dr. Apoorva Palkar (Director-Innovation, Incubation & Linkage, Savitribai Phule Pune University), Shri. Devdutta Boralkar (Industrialist), Smt. Vinaya Devdutta Boralkar (Founder and CEO Ladoba). The objective of the workshop was to create awareness among the students about entrepreneurship as a career choice and inform them about business opportunities. The interaction was held with few role models entrepreneurs to motivate the students.

Activity 1 : KALEIDOSCOPE : Freedom of Expression

Description: On our 75th year of independence, the BBA department had organised an exhibition KALEIDOSCOPE: Freedom of Expression
The events organised were as follows: –
- Kalpana – Poster making competition.
- Bharat Katha – It was a Duo Quiz competition. The theme of the quiz was Indian independence.
- Dancing – For dancing events, participants were requested to record their dance video which was shown on the day of the event.
- Singing – Singing event was held live on the day of exhibition.
- Speech – In this event participants had to give a speech. The theme was patriotism.
Activity 2 : Entrepreneurship Development Event Udyamita – Let’s Grow

Description: The BBA Department had successfully organised the Entrepreneurship Day on 16th September 2022. In this event students had set up stalls of a variety of food delicacies, games, products and much more. Students experienced and learnt various entrepreneurship skills through this event. There were around 45 stalls put up by the students. It was a great learning experience for the students on the subject entrepreneurship development.
Activity 3 : Industrial Visits to Parle G Factory, Katraj Dairy, Shivam Cartons, Ramson Rubtech and Industrial & Labour Court Visit
Date: 4th & 10th October 2022 & 30th January 2023
Class: TY BBA
Description: This offline industrial visit was particularly planned for TY BBA students to motivate and make them aware of different manufacturing sectors like dairy, biscuits, machineries, etc. Students enjoyed the industrial visit and got to learn many things. Students got the opportunity to interact with industry experts and meet entrepreneurs, policymakers, etc. It provided students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods, and employment practices. It gave them exposure to current work practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at college. Also interested students were taken for Industrial & Labour Court Visit, Swargate, Pune. Students keenly observed the court functioning. They heard the cases at various stages in different courts.
Activity 4 : Annual College Fest Aarohan: Exploring the Limitless Talent

Description: Aarohan is the annual cultural festival of the college. Aarohan 2023 consisted of a total of 23 events. These events were a mix of management, cultural and sports events. The last day of Aarohan was celebrated as the Traditional Day.

Description: The objective of the workshop was to create awareness among the students about entrepreneurship as a career choice and inform them about business opportunities. The interaction was held with a few role model entrepreneurs to motivate the students. This programme aimed to help, guide, support and select a new generation of entrepreneurs to strengthen their entrepreneurial abilities and motivate them. The camp also focused on environment analysis related to small & medium industry / business. Select project / products, formulate project, and understand the process and procedure of setting up a small / medium industry / business. An interaction was held with a few role-model entrepreneurs to motivate the students.

Description: The BBA department had organized a total of seven industrial visits during the academic year 2023-2024. These visits were thoughtfully arranged for their students across a diverse range of industries with the primary aim of providing hands-on exposure to real-world business environments. By participating in these visits, students had the valuable opportunity to observe and understand various operational processes, including production, marketing, finance, and human resources, within different sectors. This initiative was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, enabling students to gain a comprehensive understanding of how businesses function in practice. Through these experiences, the department sought to enhance the students’ learning, foster industry awareness, and better prepare them for their future professional careers.
