Counseling camp

PG students provide counseling sessions to neighborhood community.

2022-23

‘Manas Mitra’ as a peer helper.

Parivartan trust conducted an orientation session for undergraduate psychology student on   23rd August 2022, to create awareness about importance about mental health and irradiation of stigma with respect to psychological illnesses.  Parivartan trust also guided students to provide first aid or primary help to people suffering from psychological problems.   Students were appealed and selected to work as ‘Manas Mitra’ as a peer helper. Also further sessions were conducted for their training.

Interview of alumni of, Ms. Gayatri Vartak(Sports Psychologist)

Students organized interview of eminent personality, Ms. Gayatri Vartak, sports psychologist of Indian table tennis team in Tokyo Olympics, who is also Alumnus of psychology department.  More than 100 U.G. and P.G. students attended this program.

UG/PG create awareness about mental health in society. Conduct various activities and poster, games, movies

Screening of movies related mental health and discussion with experts.

Suicide Prevention Day

The Department of Psychology at Modern College, Pune, observed Suicide Prevention Day with activities aimed at raising awareness about mental health and promoting empathy and support. Students organized interactive sessions, poster displays, and discussions to emphasize the importance of reaching out and breaking the stigma around seeking help.

The Department of Psychology at Modern College, Pune, organized a Counseling Camp to promote mental well-being and provide guidance to students. The camp offered one-on-one counseling sessions, stress management tips, and awareness about the importance of emotional health in academic and personal life.

Entrance Exam Preparation Orientation and Career Guidance (for UG students)

The Department of Psychology at Modern College, Pune, conducted an Entrance Exam Preparation Orientation and Career Guidance session for undergraduate students. The program aimed to help students prepare effectively for postgraduate entrance exams and explore diverse career opportunities in psychology.

2017

Importance of Emotional Intelligence for Educators”

The workshop was organized by the Psychology Department, Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune-05 in collaboration with Six Seconds, an International Organization working in the field of EI. The interactive workshop was conducted by foreign resource persons in various sessions which focused themes like self awareness, intrinsic motivation, empathy, optimism etc. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the activities of the workshop.
