Brief Report of few Departmental Activities
Report on Guest Lecture Event Organized by the Political Science Department on “Electoral Literacy and Voter Registration” on 05/08/2024

The Department of Political Science organized a guest lecture on “Electoral Literacy and Voter Registration” to educate students about the significance of informed voting and the voter registration process. Mr. Tanmay Dumbre, an expert in civic engagement, conducted the session using a well-structured presentation covering the importance of electoral literacy, voter responsibility, and step-by-step voter registration guidance. The event saw active participation from around 100 students who engaged in discussions and raised insightful questions. Mr. Dumbre’s interactive and informative approach made the session impactful and inspiring. The department thanked him for his valuable contribution, noting that the lecture greatly contributed to the students’ academic and civic awareness.
Ekatvam Event Based on 75th Constitutional Day
The Department of Political Science successfully organized the much-anticipated Ekatvam’25 Festival based on the theme of 75 Years of The Indian Constitution on the 11th of January Under the Guidance of Principal Dr. Rajendra Zunjarrao Sir, HOD Prof D.L. Khoakle Sir. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments, making it a grand success. The festival featured a diverse range of competitions based on 75 Years of The Indian Constitution, including:
- Debate Competition
- Poster Making Competition
- Quiz Competition
- Street Play
- Cultural Competition
Each event was met with keen interest and vibrant participation, showcasing the talent and intellectual engagement of the students. The competitions provided a platform for students to express their creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork.
A key highlight of the festival was the guidance and support extended by Respected Principal, Dr. R.S.Zunjarrao sir, who motivated and encouraged the students with his inspiring words. His presence added great value to the event, reinforcing the importance of academic and cultural integration.
The Ekatvam Festival 25 successfully fostered a spirit of unity, collaboration, and academic excellence. The department extends its gratitude to all the participants, faculty members, and organizing committee for their dedicated efforts in making this event a remarkable success.
Community Engagement Program (CEP)- Field Visit

As part of the academic curriculum for 2024–2025, the Department of Political Science organized a field visit to Karunj village to provide students with hands-on learning about rural life. The objective was to foster understanding of social, economic, and governance issues in rural communities. Students interacted with various groups such as elderly women, the Katkari tribal community, and local farmers and laborers. These interactions offered insights into traditional lifestyles, tribal challenges, agricultural practices, and rural livelihoods. The visit encouraged students to connect classroom concepts with ground realities, enhancing their civic awareness and critical thinking. Overall, the program was an enriching educational experience for all participants.
Participation in the State Level Career Parliament
The Department of Political Science, Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Shivajinagar, Pune, actively participated in the State Level Career Parliament organized by the Career Katta Team. The event provided students with valuable exposure to career-related knowledge, expert insights, and essential skills for informed decision-making. The sessions were informative, interactive, and well-aligned with student needs. The department deeply appreciated the Career Katta Team’s efforts and warm hospitality, which made the experience smooth and enriching for both faculty and students. Overall, the event was a meaningful learning opportunity, and the department looks forward to future collaborations with the Career Katta initiative.
