About Department-

The Department of Electronic Science, established in June 1994 as an independent entity after separation from the Department of Physics. It has grown into a vibrant hub of learning, research and innovations. Since its inception in 1985 at Modern College as a distinct department, it has expanded to offer Junior, Undergraduate programs, Postgraduate programs, and a recognized Postgraduate Research Centre affiliated to SPPU. Along with teaching to B.Sc. Electronic Science, B.Sc. Computer Science and M.Sc. Electronic Science students, our young and dynamic faculty actively engaged in interdisciplinary projects and collaborations with Botany, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science departments. Also fostering collaborations with reputed research institutes, University departments and industries. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories: DSO, CRO, signal generators, microcontroller development boards, FPGA; CPLD boards, DSP, PLC, LabVIEW, fiber optics communication kits and modern ICT facilities for creating an ecosystem that nurtures curiosity, research, and industry-academia linkages to cater current needs of society. The department is recipient of strong alumni support with college Alumni Association. The Department have been successfully completed the e-Waste disposal drive in the academic year 2023 – 24.
