Applications are invited for Maharashtra Government Sanctioned Teaching Positions of Grant-in-Aid Section in the Progressive Education Society’s, Modern College of Arts, Science & Commerce (Autonomous), Shivajinagar, Pune – 411 005.

Application Process:

Candidate should apply online as well as offline from 6th September 2024 to 21st September 2024 and the last date of submitting hard copy with all supporting self attested documents in the college office within office hours is 21st September 2024.

The reservation will be as per Govt. Resolution Misc.2019/C.R./94/19/Vishi.1, dated 11.04.2022.  Non-Creamy Layer Certificate is compulsory while applying under OBC Category.

The general terms and conditions as regard to minimum qualifications required for the post of  ‘Assistant Professor’ shall be as specified by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, Savitribai Phule  Pune University, Pune 7 and Government of Maharashtra Resolution No.Misc.-2018 /C.R.56/18/UNI-1, dated 08.03.2019 and Corrigendum dated 10.05.2019. Actual appointments are subject to availability of the respective subject workload and sanction by Government of Maharashtra.

Advertisement is published with reference to NOC received from the Higher and Technical Education Department, Government of Maharashtra letter No. JDHEPune/NOC/2024/54 dated 29.08.2024.

It is mandatory to fill and submit the Google form online and the prescribed print form along with all self attested supporting documents offline within given time limit at college office in the office hours.

Processing fees for Open Category Candidate is Rs.500 /-(Rs. Five Hundred Only) and for Reserved / Handicapped Candidate is Rs.300/- (Rs. Three Hundred Only). The payment should be made via Demand Draft drawn in favor of “Progressive Education Society, Pune 5”.

Essential Qualifications:

(a) Master Degree in relevant subject with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade from a statutory university with good academic record.

(b) Besides fulfilling the above qualification, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

OR

     The candidate should have Ph.D degree in accordance with UGC (minimum standard and procedure for award of Ph.D. degree) regulation-2009

 Note :

  1. A relaxation of 5% marks may be provided, at the master’s level for the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe/ Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled)/ Other Backward Class categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility of 55 % marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system in followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.
  2. Qualifications and Service conditions will be as per the existing rules of the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, University Grants Commission, New Delhi, Govt. of Maharashtra and Progressive Education Society, Shivajinagar, Pune-05
  3. The applicant in service will have to submit his/her application through proper channel only.
  4. The minimum qualification required for the post of Assistant Professor shall be as specified by UGC and Government of Maharashtra from time to time.
  5. No TA/ DA will be paid to the candidate, for appearing for the interview.
  6. The Medium of instructions is English only, except for the Marathi subject.
  7. The posts will be filled in subject to the availability of actual workload for each subject.
  8. The link of online application is available on Modern college website duly filled application form should be accompanied with Demand Draft payment of Rs. 500/- for open category and Rs. 300/- for Reserved category. Demand draft should be drawn in favor of Progressive Education Society, Pune-5
  9. As per the Notification No. SRV.2000/CR(17/2000)XII, dated 28th March 2005 issued by general Administration Department, Mantrlaya, Mumbai, a candidate shall submit the declaration of the small family in the prescribed format attached with an application as declaration Form-A.   1. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories as recognized in the State of Maharashtra shall only be considered under reserved categories. The candidate belonging to the reserved categories from outside the State of Maharashtra will be treated as Open. Those candidates should apply under open category only.
  2. Relevant experience and educational qualifications will be counted as on the start date prescribed for making online applications, i.e.6th of September 2024.
  3. Candidates are requested to refer to the college website from time to time as all information, communication and circulars will be notified on the website by the college. The College will not entertain any inquiry regarding eligibility criteria.
  4. The College will not be responsible for any delay or non-acknowledgement of postal correspondence.
  5. The reservation mentioned in the advertisement is subject to verification of roster by the competent authority. The number of posts advertised may vary after verification of the roster. The Progressive Education Society/ Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Shivajinagar, Pune-5 reserves all rights not to fill some or all the post advertised and to change the number of posts advertised and/ or reservation. The decision of the appointing authority will be final and binding on applicants and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
