Research

Research Centre: The Department is also recognized as Research centre since June 2008 for pursuing Ph. D. in Accountancy, Banking and Finance, Business Administration and Business Economics, Business Law and Marketing. The center has 6 recognized guides.

Research Projects – 

  • Prof. Rasika Date – Successfully completed a Minor Research Project titled ‘A Study of Impact of Levy of Income Tax on Select Urban Co-operative Banks in Pune District’ which was funded by the BCUD, University of Pune.

Other Research Activates – Prof. Y. R. Waghmare is a recognised Research Guide and Head of the Research Center in Commerce.

  • Prof. Dr. R.W. Kulkarni completed Ph.D. on 19th May, 2007 from University of Pune under Board of Studies in (Commerce) Marketing. The topic was “An analytical study of the causes of underutilization of non-conventional and renewable sources of energy systems (NRSR) and its market potential in Pune District.”
  • Prof. Dr. S.K. Rahane completed Ph.D. on 8th December, 2008 from University of Pune under Board of studies in Business Administration. The topic was “An in-depth study of performance of Department of Post, since 1990, with special reference to Pune District”. She received silver medal at Avishkar—(a Project Presentation Competition at State level)
  • Prof. A.V. Kamble completed Ph.D. The topic was “An Analytical study of the problems of Tourism Industry and its Marketing Potential in Pune District – A Commercial Analysis”.
  • Prof. V.N. Gaikwad awarded Ph.D. by Pune University. The topic is “Working Capital Management of Selected Sugar Co-operative Factories in Pune District”.

Participation in Avishkar—(A Research Project Competition) – 

Dr. S.K. Rahane and Prof. R. P. Date have been guiding students for participation in the Research Project Competition ‘Avishkar’ conducted by the University of Pune. At State Level Avishkar 2010-11, one student (Pranav Shirole ) and at State Level Avishkar 2012-13 one student (Ms. Shilpa Raju) represented the winner team of University of Pune as Team Members.

Prof.Rasika Date student of Research Centre represented SPPU at the State Level Avishkar 2015.
