The syllabus includes basic as well as advanced concepts in Plant Sciences from first year to third year of B. Sc. The syllabus is inspiring to students for perusing higher studies in Botany. It also helps them in becoming an entrepreneur and for getting employment in plant based industries like Plant Tissue Culture Laboratories, Seed Industries, and Pharmaceutical Insustries etc.

The first year B. Sc. theory syllabus includes fundamentals of Botany discussing diversity in plant groups and scope of botany in industries. The second year students are exposed to subjects like Plant Physiology, Plant Biotechnology, Plant taxonomy and Anatomy. The third year of B. Sc. with specialization in Botany deals with Plant Genetics, Plant Physiology, Molecular biology, Cell Biology etc.
Our aim is to deliver a quality classroom experience enhanced with ICT and provide opportunities for research in the laboratory and field, so that they acquire the biological literacy and critical thinking skills necessary for successful career in education, research, industry and government.

Objectives

  • To provide quality education in the fields of Basic Plant Sciences, Plant Biotechnology, Plant Taxonomy and other related fields.
  • To inspire the students for research activities, exploring variety of scientifically and technically feasible projects having socio-economic importance.
  • To produce skilled manpower that can accomplish the needs of tomorrow and compete in national and international arena of research and development.
